Betano verifies your location to comply with local licensing laws, keep the platform secure, and support responsible gambling. We use a combination of methods to do this accurately:
- IP Geolocation — your device's IP address gives a general approximation of your location. This can be less accurate if you're using a VPN or proxy.
- Wi-Fi and GPS Data — on mobile devices, this gives a more precise, real-time location. We only access this with your explicit consent.
- Mobile Network Data — your mobile provider can help confirm your location based on the cell towers your device connects to, which is useful when other methods aren't available.
