Blackjack is played with 4 to 6 decks of 52 cards. The goal is to beat the dealer with a hand as close to 21 as possible, without going over.
Card values: cards 2–10 count at face value; Jacks, Queens, and Kings count as 10; the Ace counts as 1 or 11.
Gameplay:
- You place a bet and receive two open cards.
- Call "Hit" for another card, or "Stand" to keep your hand.
- An Ace plus a 10-value card is a Blackjack — the best possible hand.
Your options after the first two cards:
- Hit: take another card.
- Stand: keep your current hand.
- Double Down: double your bet and receive exactly one more card.
- Split: if your first two cards are a pair, split them into two separate hands, each with its own bet.
- Insurance: if the dealer's first card is an Ace, you can bet half your original stake against the dealer having Blackjack.
Outcomes: if your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you win. Bust means your hand exceeds 21 — you lose the bet automatically. Push means your hand ties the dealer's — your bet is returned.
