Beach volleyball is a sport played between two teams of two players, where the goal is to score points by sending the ball over the net into the opponent’s court. The first team to win the most sets, typically by reaching 21 points with a two-point lead, wins the match.

Played on a 16 × 8 meter sand court
Divided by a net: 2.43 m high for men, 2.24 m for women

Gameplay
The game starts with a serve, followed by a rally
Teams use passing, setting, and spiking to score points
Players may use any part of their body but cannot catch or hold the ball
Each team is allowed up to three touches before returning the ball
Players do not rotate positions, but switch sides after each set
Scoring and Match Format
Points are awarded when the ball lands in the opponent’s court or they commit a fault
Matches are typically best-of-three sets
The first team to win two sets is declared the winner
